I'm Alex Durfee...

a photographer and videographer based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I’ve always been drawn to places that make you stop and look around. Whether I’m somewhere in the mountains, wandering through a new city, or traveling halfway around the world, I like being outside, meeting people, and finding the stories that make a place feel alive.

What started as a love for photography has grown into a full-time career, taking me throughout the Southwest and to places like New York City, Miami, Vietnam, and Switzerland. I spent two weeks traveling through Vietnam photographing the people and landscapes I encountered along the way – one of those trips that reminded me why I love having a camera in the first place.

I work across a pretty wide range of photography and video, from outdoor and adventure work to products, fashion, personal shoots, and documentary projects. I’m less interested in fitting into one particular category and more interested in working with people who have something they want to create.

For me, the best projects are collaborative. I like getting to know what a client is trying to say, finding the interesting parts of the idea, and then figuring out how to push it a little further. I want the finished work to feel genuine – not overly polished for the sake of being polished, but thoughtful, creative, and connected to the people and places behind it.

When I’m not working, I’m usually looking for the next excuse to get outside. Mountaineering, camping, fishing, hiking, traveling-anything that gets me somewhere new and gives me a reason to stay a little longer.
